MPSPC ADVISORY ON THE DISTRIBUTION OF LEARNING MATERIALS UNDER THE FLEXIBLE LEARNING SCHEME FOR THE REMAINDER OF 2ND SEMESTER, AY 2019-2020

In view of the implementation of the Flexible Learning Mode for the resumption of classes at the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College on May 4, 2020, students are hereby advised of the following guidelines and instructions:

With the goals of the college in perspective, the Research, Development and Extension Unit conducted its assessment, planning and team building on January 11-12, 2018 at the MDP Village, Cervantes Ilocos Sur. The research and extension coordinators, RDE personnel, VPRDE, and VPAA took part in the two-day activity which allowed the research and extension coordinators to participate in the workshops and present their accomplishments and action plans for 2018. The research coordinators focused on setting the targets and commitments of their departments on the submission of research proposals, completed researches, presentations, publications, copyrights and utilization of outputs.

This is in line with the research unit’s objective to promote relevant and responsive research services. The extension unit on the other hand, highlighted its objective of providing relevant and quality extension services. The extension coordinators presented each of their departments’ commitments in extending their expert services to the community and other agencies.

STRESS RELEASE. The college president together with the faculty and staff researchers participate in the rejuvenation and stress management exercises led by Master Del Pe.

The college president in his message made clear that extension is not community service and that MPSPC should look into extending expertise which cannot easily be given by other agencies or organizations. Further, he reminded that the goals of President Duterte should be put in mind in setting forth the objectives of the RDE and the college. He suggested that studies such as federalism and climate change which are included in the harmonized national agenda be included in the research and extension plans.

On a lighter note, the participants with the involvement of the college president on the first day joined in the stress management exercise and healing program introduced by Master Del Pe, wellness trainer and owner of MDP village. This program sought to divert the researcher-participants from their usual activities and to experience rejuvenation from the stress resulting from their daily routine activities at work. Team building activities through games such as mini golf and karaoke were also enjoyed by the participants during the night.

The second day allowed the participants to have a morning relaxation through a trip to the hotspring then a more aggressive exercise through a martial arts training back in the village. The afternoon was dedicated to completing the BeLife wellness program with lectures and video viewing about self-healing. A US recognized certificate was given to each of the participants who completed the program.

The two-day activity was concluded with several take-away learnings from the assessment and planning activities and the stress management program provided by the MDP team./Luzlyn M. Agwilang
