ABSTRACT

This study looked into the assessed perceptions of the different stakeholders of the Criminology Department on the vision and mission MPSPC as well as the goal and objectives of the department. Specifically, it sought to determine the level of awareness of the stakeholders on the VMGO of MPSPC and the Criminology Department, to look into the perceptions of stakeholders on the level of attainability of the VMGO of MPSPC and the Criminology Department, and to identify the different means of disseminating the VMGO of the College as encountered by the different stakeholders.

The study made use of the descriptive survey design and questionnaire was used as a tool to determine the level of awareness, level of acceptability and the means of dissemination of the VMGO. There are five groups of respondents involved in the study: the Criminology students enrolled in the Second semester of school year 2013-2014, Criminology faculty members, administrative staff assigned at Bontoc Campus, Criminology alumni and the community.

Based from the findings of the study, the following conclusions were drawn:

1.The Administration and the Community stakeholders are much aware of the VMGO of the College and the Criminology Department as compared to students and faculty who are very much aware

2.The students, alumni, administrative staff and community perceived the VMGO to be much attainable.

3.The least means of disseminating VMGO as result of the study are the radio programs and the use of the MPSPC website.

The following are the recommendations:

1.To increase awareness of the administration and community stakeholders on the VMGO of the College, the College shall utilize other means such as radio programs and the Internet like the MPSPC website and Facebook to disseminate the vision, mission, goals of the College. College can sustain the conduct of regular orientation on the VMGO as well as policies and guidelines. It is encouraged that such will be explained in context and by giving situations where all the stakeholders can fully internalize the meaning of the VMGO.

2.There is a need for the BS Criminology Department to revisit the objectives of the program and align it to the newly crafted VMG of the College and see if the VMGO are attainable.

3.The College and the Criminology Department will look into all possible means of disseminating the VMGO utilizing all media available. A video presentation on the VMGO of the College can be shown during student orientation and other activities.
