ABSTRACT
Keeping track of the progress of graduates is an imperative for any educational institution of higher learning as it monitors their progress, and as it evaluates its institutional performance and the return on its investments. This study traced the progress of the 119 Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSEd) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) graduates of MPSPC-Tadian Campus from Academic Years 2007-2008 to 2012-2013 in terms of the their status of employment, eligibility status, and whereabouts.
Data gathered through questionnaire based from CHED-designed Graduate Tracer Survey (GTS) reveals that the bulk of the graduates of the period covered are employed as regular or permanent teachers in public and private schools or colleges, or as being self-employed and entrepreneurs; with those who are not employed in their teaching profession having no job opportunity and having no eligibility as the two main reasons for their unemployment. More than majority of them passed the Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET).
Furthermore, it is recommended that linkage of the institution with the Department of Education, Department of Labor and Employment and other private schools and colleges should be strengthened; and interventions for the increase in the passing percentage of the graduates in the LET particularly the re-takers should be given priority by the Teacher Education Department of the College.
