The Criminology Department, in collaboration with the Gender and Development Office, successfully concluded a five-day seminar aimed at integrating gender sensitivity in law enforcement. The seminar, which covered topics such as criminal jurisprudence, the Revised Penal Code, criminal detection, and forensic science, was designed to equip OJT students with essential knowledge and skills in dealing with clients and colleagues in law enforcement.

Throughout the seminar, distinguished speakers from the fields of law and law enforcement were invited to share their expertise. Atty. Jonathan Budaden opened the seminar by delivering a comprehensive lecture on criminal jurisprudence, while Atty. Theodore M. Timpac focused on enlightening the students about the Revised Penal Code. Mr. Bronson L. Peckley shared his expertise in forensic science, shedding light on the crucial role it plays in criminal investigations. Lastly, PCol Esteban C. Dulnuan, OSEC, Ph.D., the current Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education of PLT College Inc., delivered an insightful lecture on criminal detection investigation.

The seminar provided an excellent platform for the Criminology interns to enhance their understanding of gender-related issues in law enforcement and deepen their knowledge of critical subjects such as criminal jurisprudence, the Revised Penal Code, criminal detection, and forensic science. The Criminology Department, in partnership with the Gender and Development Office, remains committed to equipping future law enforcement professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a more inclusive and gender-sensitive society.
