Bontoc, July 7, 2022 - In a move to fortify local coffee production, the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) hosted an Inception Meeting for the newly granted project by ACDI/VOCA titled "Optimization and Sustainability of Coffee Production in Mountain Province, Philippines." The meeting, held at the Admin Conference Hall of MPSPC, marked the commencement of an endeavor discussed by Ms. Christine Abellon and led by Project Leader Ms. Jocelyn Assayco.

Ms. Assayco provided a brief overview of the project's objectives and outlined the tangible benefits it aims to bring to the local community and the agricultural sector. Emphasizing the project's broader impact, Ms. Abellon underscored its significance not only for research purposes but also for the local farmers. The meeting addressed the necessary requirements and documents to be accomplished by the project team.


The inception meeting set yet another collaborative effort between MPSPC and ACDI/VOCA to optimize and sustain coffee production in Mountain Province. The comprehensive discussions on grant processing and project sustainability underscore the commitment to not only advance research but also positively impact local farmers. As the project unfolds, stakeholders are eager on the results of the project and its potential effects on soil fertility and, consequently, the overall prosperity of coffee production in the region.
