Led by its College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue, MPSPC welcomed the University of Michigan (UM) representatives yesterday, August 14, 2023, for the turnover of photos of Bontok Igorots and digital archives of manuscripts on significant historical events during the 1900s such as the 1904 St. Louis Fair. The photos and materials were acquired through the project ReConnect/ReCollect: Reparative Connections to Philippine Collections at the University of Michigan. The Reconnect/Recollect team is committed to developing models for culturally-responsive and historically-minded stewardship of the Philippine collections housed at the University of Michigan. During the visit, the group engaged in a roundtable discussion of meaningful insights and perspectives on cultural recontextualization.

The dialogue also facilitated a collaboration among representatives from the University of Michigan's Bentley Historical Library, the Museum of Anthropological Archaeology (UMMAA), and MPSPC Administrators. Overall, the activity made Bontokโ€™s historical collections in UMโ€™s archives more accessible to the communities.
