Described by College President Rexton F. Chakas as the college’s strongest finish so far, the MPSPC ranked second in the just concluded 2017 Cordillera Administrative Region Association of State Universities and Colleges (CARASUC) Athletic Meet held at the Ifugao State University (IFSU), Nayon Lamut Ifugao this November 16 – 21, 2017.
MPSPC bagged a total of twenty seven gold medals, forty four silver and thirty six bronze medals toiled for by the valiant athletes. 9 was from Pencak Silat; 4 – Taekwondo; another 4 – Arnis, and 1 gold medal each – High Jump (M), Javelin, Shotput, Discuss Throw, 1,500 meter run, 110 Hurdle, 5000m (W), 3000m (W), 1,500m (W) and 800m (W).
With the said result, the MPSPC administration commended the hard work of the athletes and their coaches, and all other personnel who contributed to the success. In addition, President Chakas reaffirmed his all-out support to the further advancement of MPSPC’s sports development program.
The winners in the different events will be joining the regional contingent in the upcoming 2018 National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) Sports Competition in Antique, Antique, Philippines which will be hosted by Regional SCUAA VIII - Eastern Visayas.
