Bagging home 5 golds, 3 silvers and 8 bronze and with 127 points, the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College landed the over all 1st runner-up, with a three-point deficit to tie-up with Benguet State University who bagged the championship, in the recently concluded CARASUC Culture and the Arts Festival 2017 at Ifugao State University, Nayon, Lamut, Ifugao on November 15-18, 2017.
In the twenty-four(24) competed events, MPSPC claimed the championships in Extemporaneous Speech (Ryan A. Lucas), Vocal Solo (Rubilyn Cuyangoan), Instrumental Solo ( Danielle Carino), On-the-spot Painting (Clienteast Van Totanes) and Quiz Bowl (Shereen Padchonga, Alyssa Bantasan, Karen Dicaleng, Jenny Pelayo). They will be representing the Cordillera Administrative Region in their respective events during the PASUC National Culture and the Arts Festival 2017 in Negros Oriental State University, Dumaguete City on November 29-December 3, 2017.
The coaches in the 5 winning events were Carolyne A. Castaneda, Jennifer Ruth C Tuazon, Adela II A. Bantasan and Geraldine D. Segseg, respectively.
MPSPC garnered silver in Charcoal Rendering, Chorale and Essay Writing. Bronze in Dagliang Talumpati, Story Telling, Pagkukuwento, Live Band, Short and Sweet Play, Photo Contest, On-the-Spot Poster Making and Vocal Duet. They also ranked 3rd runner up in the Contemporary Dance, Pencil Drawing and both Mr. and Ms. CARASUC.
Apart from the opportunity to travel to Dumaguete City and join in a nationwide competition, the MPSPC regional winners will also be awarded a cash incentive as stipulated in the Student Incentive Policy of the institution.
