BAGUIO CITY, Benguet- Coveting most of the accumulated scores in the individual events, staff of the Tala, the mocking bird, the official publication of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College nips awards in various competitions in the Regional Higher Education Press Conference (RHEPC)- Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) 2017 held at
Baguio- Benguet Community Credit Cooperative (BBCCC) on Nov. 30- Dec. 2, 2017.
Six staffs from MPSPC- Bontoc campus garnered the following awards in their respective categories: Warden B. Taltala, champion in Column Writing (English), 1st runner-up in News Writing (English), 2nd runner-up in Editorial Writing (English) and awarded as 2nd place Individual Highest Pointer; Chariz Ballada, champion in News Writing (Filipino), champion in Copy reading and Headline Writing and awarded as 3rd place Individual Highest Pointer; Marcial III P. Pineda, 2nd runner-up in Page Layout and Design and 4th runner-up in Poetry Writing; Zyndy K. Alva, 1st runner-up in Development Communication; and Justine Gumatin, 4th runner-up in Feature Writing (Filipino).
Moreover, three staffs from MPSPC-Tadian campus also dominated their events in their respective categories; Crystal Malao (Tadian campus), champion in Column Writing (Filipino); Henry Coyupan (Tadian Campus), 2nd runner-up in Development Communication (Filipino); and Jhayson Martinez, 3rd runner-up in Literary Graphics and Illustration and 3rd runner-up in Comics Strip Drawing.
Top 5 finalists in all the categories are qualified to attend and join the Luzonwide Higher Education Press Conference (LHEPC) to be held at Supreme Hotel, Baguio City on February 4-6, 2018. /TALA-Mockingbird
