BONTOC, Mountain Province. Bearing the theme, “We Make Change for Women”, Jude Lalio, a Bachelor of Science in Criminology student, secured the top spot with 94.87% average in the recently conducted Mountain Province State Polytechnic College - National Women’s Month Slogan-Poster Making Contest on March 20, 2018 at the College Auditorium.
Mavis Ramos of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – Marketing Management bagged second place with an average of 94.33%. Moreover, Marinella Pacalso of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy won third place with an average of 93.47%.
Gender and Development (GAD) Unit, in collaboration with the Supreme Student Council (SSC) of Bontoc Campus organized the event highlighting the empowerment of women as active contributors to and claimholders of development.
Lalio, Ramos, and Pacalso received certificate of recognition and cash prizes of PHP 2, 000.00, PHP 1, 500.00, and PHP 1, 000.00, respectively.
Other participants received their consolation prizes: Daryl Miranda (Liberal Arts Student Organization), Russel Kipas (Information Technology), Hazel Ramo (Nursing), Jonathan Tuala (Social Studies), Chanda Cindy Oya-oy (Teacher Education), Cyril Mararac (Mathematics Society), Daniel Sildon (UBAYA), Joey Pallar (SAPD), Rhys Foryasen (Business Administration Department), Ferlane Abadines (HRMT), and Rhea Mitchill Orsong (English Majors).
Judges in the said event were: Flordeliza G. Cruz, GAD Director; Carolyne Dale Castañeda, Job Placement Officer; and, Santino Tangilag from Sports Office.
