With the theme, “Radiating into the golden age: Minting excellence, innovation and participatory leadership,” Department of Social Welfare and Development- CAR Regional Director Janet P. Armas through her representative Policy and Plans Division Chief Dennis Fernandez graced the 27th Commencement Exercise of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College- Tadian campus on June 5, 2019.
Out of the 136 graduates, Ms. Shyla B. Alsaen, a Bachelor of Agricultural Technology graduate was awarded Cum Laude and Agricultural student of the year. Alsaen is currently the student trustee in the College governing board.
In the message of Director Armas, she congratulated the graduates, most especially the parents who were the sturdy supports in the academic journey of the graduates.
“Excellence must come after honor. Honor brings forth excellence. Excellence happens when we are able to master honor. And honor is achieved by going back to our roots....excellence is fueled by innovation, when we learn to think outside the box, and we are not afraid to challenge the status quo. Innovation comes from creativity anchored from that goal that we set. Participatory leadership is servant leadership. It is when people start forgetting their lofty titles and go down to their communities to join their people in finding solutions to their problems,” said Director Armas in her message.
She further congratulated the school administration and its teaching force and the parents, for working hand in hand to produce these graduates.
“I am confident that radiating into the golden age will be a successful journey for all of you, because the minting of excellence, innovation and participatory leadership has started today in this very occasion, with you the school community, and with our graduates who are more than ready to face the challenges of the future,” she said.
Earlier that day, Pastor Ulysses L. Gaab officiated the baccalaureate service of the graduates with Pastor Joel C. Awingan sharing a message.// WB Taltala
