Everybody needs to understand and embrace that you will become a university,” said Dr. Manuel in an interview. He further emphasized that MPSPC needs to strengthen its campaign for universityhood. “T-shirts and pins which indicate that ‘MPSU in 2020’ are plus points for me. MPSPC should plant the seeds in everyone’s consciousness that it will become a university.”

In MPSPC researches, Dr. Manuel stressed that strong publication and utilization should be properly observed. He also reminded that the Commission on Higher Education is not only looking on how many researches were published but how many people were benefited with the research conducted. Moreover, the he also highlighted during the interview that in terms of extension programs, the transformation of lives of clients is the heart of a university .

With the various extension programs of MPSPC, Dr. Josephine A. Gonzales underscored that state universities and colleges are mandated by the law to conduct extension programs in the community. Thus, making the community part of the College.

Stakeholders who benefited with the research and extension programs of MPSPC also expressed their gratitude and shared their life changing stories to the accreditors in the said visit. “With MPSPC’s professional help in the financial literacy, we can now suffice the necessary inputs that we can serve to our members and the community,” said Marilou C. Bolinget, Manager of Sagada Multi-Purpose Cooperative.

Dr. Manuel commended MPSPC with the unity of its workforce which according to him is the strength of a university. “In the opening program, we can already see that MPSPC faculty members and staff are rallying behind the president. I have no doubt that MPSPC will reach its dream, not only to become a university but to be a premier university in the Cordillera Region.”
