The AIHR is an annual activity of MPSPC – RDE Services as part of its commitment to continuously produce quality and relevant researches. The said event aimed for the entire Higher Education system’s higher accountability of outcome and impact as research is one area that is being looked into in the accreditation of MPSPC’s academic programs, for State Universities and Colleges levelling or ranking, for nominative funding, in gauging excellence of scientific training, and for granting statuses such as Center for Excellence and Center for Development.

Dr. Annie Grail F. Ekid, Vice President for Research Development and Extension says that subjecting the faculty researches is an institutional process. “It gives the researchers a legitimate ground for presentation in regional, national and international fora.  This is also a procedural requirement of the Research Unit which qualifies the faculty researchers to claim incentives for research awards and for publication in Scopus Indexed journals.”

As MPSPC is transitioning into university, College President Rexton F. Chakas stressed the primordial role of research. He challenged the MPSPC – RDE managers and faculty researchers: “Are you doing quality researches to make a social impact with MPSPC as the knowledge generator and technology developer? Essentially, we have been using our researches to address institutional problems to further enhance our service delivery to our students, and to other stakeholders.” President Chakas further emphasized in his message that researches are important consideration in MPSPC’s journey towards universityhood and in its pursuit for internationalization. “I am confident that though the initiatives of the RDE sector and the mentorship of our external evaluators, these aspirations will materialize.”
