The Sports and Athletic Unit of the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College joined the celebration of the Linggo ng Kabataan and International Youth Day last August 7. Its participation to this activity, organized by the Provincial SK Federation, supports one of the unit’s mandates on extending its reach to the larger community.

 

          Bearing the theme, “Transforming Education through Embracing and Recognizing the Participation of Youth in Community and Development”, the sports fest gave priority to programs and activities that promote and endure the meaningful participation of youth in sports development. Among the participants in the said activity were interested individuals and different youth organizations who competed in various indoor and outdoor games like badminton (men/women), volleyball (men/women), basketball men.

          The MPSPC volleyball men and women varsity team participated in the competitions, and both teams garnered first place. Meanwhile, the table tennis women team of MPSPC landed in 2nd and 3rd places.

          Ms. Venus Naida P. Bawiyan, MPSPC Director for Sports and Athletics said, “These events provide platforms for our athletes to build and enhance their skills and shall also give them an opportunity to learn, to cooperate and integrate more proper techniques in playing.”
