The Office of the Congressman in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted an orientation program for the beneficiaries of the Government Internship Program (GIP) at the MPSPC College Auditorium last September 3, 2019.

For academic year 2019-2020, the GIP has registered 100 beneficiaries coming from the ten municipalities of Mountain Province. The said internship opportunity is a special program that was initiated and implemented by the late Governor Maximo B. Dalog, Sr. and it continues to run since its inception.

        The GIP  is a three to six – month internship opportunity for the youth of Mountain Province, aged 18 – 30 years old, and are enrolled in high school or technical – vocational institutes, college graduates and the out-of-school youth. The internship program intends to provide the beneficiaries with opportunities to pursue work in public sector, both in local and national government units.

        In his message during the orientation program, Mountain Province Representative Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr. assured the beneficiaries that members of the legislative will continue to serve and defend these programs in the Congress. He expressed, “Continuous support and advocacy to the government programs shall be ensured for the employment of our constituents. We assure you of the support of the DOLE especially for the needed funding to support this programs to alleviate poverty.” He inspired the beneficiaries to grab the opportunity given and that it shall serve as a learning avenue.  

        Affirming the statement of the Congressman, Marshall Pachingel of DOLE – Mountain Province said, “This will also serve as a training ground for future government employees. The program will also create a pool of competitive and experienced workforce.”

        Congressman Dalog continued to thank all partner agencies for supporting the program, including MPSPC which serves as a workplace for the beneficiaries of the GIP. “Let us continue working together for a better Mountain Province!” he added.
