Heeding to the call for fortifying its collaborative partnership with the community, the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College Roadroller, the Administrationβs official publication, went on air over Radio Ayyoweng 101.5 FM during its maiden broadcast last January 17, 2020 in Tadian, Mountain Province. The College President, Dr. Rexton F. Chakas led the MPSPC team during the launching of the radio program which also commenced the series of activities of the Charter Anniversary celebration in the Tadian campus.
He was assisted by Dr. Emily Ann B. Marrero, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Annie Grail F. Ekid, Vice President for Research Development and Extension, Dr. Venus Grace K. Fagyan, Vice President for Resource Generation and Linkages, Mr. Elvin P. Rosario, Management Information System Unit Director, Ms. Carolyne Dale A. CastaΓ±eda, Coordinator for Events Management Office, and the Media Services staff of the MIS Unit.
The idea of putting the MPSPC Roadroller on air was a result of a collaborative brainstorming aimed at enhancing information dissemination through various forms of media. The radio program was then conceived to not only take advantage of the presence of an FM radio in Tadian that reaches a wide audience but also to bring MPSPC closer to the community that it serves. It was launched also so that the Collegeβs stakeholders, partners, alumni, and the community people in general who cannot be reached by the printed paper and the social media will be informed of the various undertakings of MPSPC. The Media Services Sector of the MIS Unit is responsible for ensuring that the one-hour radio program of the College will be sustained through the provision of up-to-date, essential information and developments. It shall also provide opportunities for the faculty and staff to serve as program anchors which is a different kind of exposure that upholds professional development.
Dr. Chakas announced during the launching that effective January 24, 2020, MPSPCβs official time slot in the radio program, 11 am to 12 noon every Friday, will commence. // MIS Unit
