In view of the implementation of the Flexible Learning Mode for the resumption of classes at the Mountain Province State Polytechnic College on May 4, 2020, students are hereby advised of the following guidelines and instructions:

      • The learning materials/packets were designed by faculty members as alternative modes of delivery of instruction in lieu of face-to-face classes. The College Management reiterates its stand on providing a balance between students’ health and welfare and the provision of quality instruction amidst the Covid-19 crisis. Furthermore, these modules were prepared by faculty members within a limited time and by the principles of flexible learning; as such, students are strongly advised to treat the modules with utmost understanding and respect. The adoption of the flexible learning scheme is the first in the history of the college and thus, this mechanism is not perfect. However, the College Management is crafting plans to capacitate the faculty members with the new normal in instruction and learning for college students henceforth.
      • The learning materials/packets shall be systematically distributed to students from May 7 to May 9, 2020. College coordinators and designated faculty members and non-teaching staff currently staying in towns/barangays where students reside, in coordination with the LGU and barangay officials, shall facilitate the distribution of the learning packets to students. The learning materials will be distributed to selected barangays across the ten municipalities of Mountain Province, including certain towns of Kalinga and Benguet, and the nearby municipality of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur. These areas were determined based on the records obtained from the Registrar’s Office.
      • The learning packets are sealed in an envelope that contains all students’ learning materials for their subjects in the current semester. However, if there are lacking modules for certain subjects, students are advised to communicate with their instructors through their contact numbers that were posted earlier in the College’s website and social media accounts. Students who have no internet connectivity are advised to text the Information Officer of the College, Valerie Taguba under the Management Information System (MIS) Unit for the contact numbers of faculty members thru 0956-203-7100 and 0907-230-4349.
      • Students who opted for online learning methods are advised to communicate with their respective instructors for specific instructions on the delivery of digital learning packets. Furthermore, they are also advised to regularly monitor and obtain updates from the College Management through the College’s official website - mpspc.edu.ph, and the official social media accounts in Facebook at Mountain Province State Polytechnic College and Twitter at @MPSPCofficial. These sites are the only sources of official information and updates from the College Management.

      • The provinces of Ifugao and Abra were not included as areas to be visited because there are confirmed cases of Covid-19 in these places. However, the Office of the Executive Dean will closely coordinate with the students from these places for them to avail of their learning packets.
      • Students are advised to keep their communication lines open (text messaging) because area coordinators will communicate with them in their respective areas for the distribution of learning packets.
      • The learning packets/materials for stranded students in the four central barangays of Bontoc shall be distributed to their respective areas based on the database containing their current location. However, they are further advised to coordinate with Carolyne Dale Castaneda through 09998646599.
      • The last day of submission of requirements shall be July 24, 2020. The manner of submission of the learning materials, including clear and specific instructions for the students, shall be crafted and disseminated through an advisory pending the conditions of the ECQ/GCQ after May 15, 2020.

Please be guided accordingly. The College Management wishes you all good health.
