SENATOR JUAN EDGARDO M. ANGARA announced during the 25th Mountain Province State Polytechnic College Charter Anniversary Celebration as the Guest of Honor and Speaker that the government has allotted a total of 8 billion pesos for free tuition starting on June 2017 sponsoring the Senate Bill 1304 (Free Higher Education for All Act to institutionalize the free tuition).
Furthermore, this year’s national budget allocated 10 million pesos for the construction of an Academic Building at the Tadian Campus, as well as amounting of 5 million pesos in the rehabilitation and construction of the Multi-Purpose Building including 500, 000 pesos for sports facilities. Additional to these, there is also 3.5 million budget for the improvement of the facilities and purchase of equipment.
“The government is taking steps to make a better country. Senator Angara stated that the government is working in the quality infrastructure and education as he emphasized that the government is in full support in the universal quality education,” said Sen. Angara in his speech.
“Our government will continue to work hand in hand with all public colleges and universities to support them equitably and continuously, making sure that no learning institution is left out, whether from Mountain Province, South Cotabato, Baler, (the) students must get the same quality education, and must get the same opportunities to succeed as any other of the country, whether urban or rural.”
MPSPC’s continuing of quality education commemorates its humble beginnings as it seizes the future with the various activities such as Capability Building on Data Analysis Using SPSS, Trade and Fancy Fair, Coffee Basics Seminar, Students’ Research Forum and Extension Poster Presentation, Book Fair, Mathematics Festival, Indigenous Games Olympics, Search for Mr. and Miss MPSPC Silver, Street Dancing and Mascot Presentation, Faculty Frolics and Solidarity Event, and Graduate School Capability Building Seminar conducted last January 17-28.
