Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, the designated Incident Commander for Typhoons Marce and Nika, led the post-assessment meeting for Operation Typhoon “Marce” and “Nika” at the Bontoc Campus.
During the Meeting, Dr. Sia-ed commended the Incident Management Team (IMT) for their swift and effective response, prioritizing the safety of students and employees. She reported that the campus had a total of 17 student evacuees: 6 were accommodated at the Evacuation Center – MPGCHS, while 11 sought refuge with family and friends in Bontoc. This morning, the six students who were at MPGCHS were safely relocated with the assistance of the SSDO Dean, Ma’am Jennifer Tuazon, along with representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Bontoc, Bontoc Emergency Response Team and MDRRMO personel. As of now, there are no recorded student evacuees at the Evacuation Center.
The post-evaluation included a discussion on insights and feedback from the operation focusing on improvement areas and lessons learned. This is to further improve the disaster risk management of the Campus.
Everyone is advised to continuously be updated on the weather forecasts as Tropical Storm “Ofel” moves over the Philippine Sea.
