Showcasing their exemplary skills in culinary prowess, Jephunneh Bel R. Anengyao and Vanessa Venus G. Zaparita, both from Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) nailed a Silver Award during the 2023 Philippine Culinary Cup: Canada Beef Young Chefs' Team Challenge held at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, Manila on August 2-3, 2023.

 

The 2023 Philippine Culinary Cup is an esteemed culinary competition in the Philippines which aims to provide a wider venture for Filipino chefs in unveiling their exceptional talents in culinary field.

 

Meanwhile, College President Edgar G. Cue who also attended the said event as part of the College's participation as a member of Magic 7+ Consortium, expressed his congratulations to the team for giving honor and bannering MPSPC at the national level.

 

"This is part of our efforts to mark a name for the College at various endeavors such as this event," Cue expressed.

 

The said event was organized through a collaborative effort of the LTB Chefs Association Philippines, the Pastry Alliance of the Philippines and the PEPTarsus Corporation under the sponsorship of the Canadian Trade Commissioner Service - Education, Agriculture and Agri-Food Commodities and the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines.

 

This also comes as part of the celebration of the Philippines-Canada Friendship Week which is being participated by the Magic 7+ consortium which includes MPSPC and other select state universities and colleges in the Philippines.

 

The team was coached and accompanied by Dr. Karen B. Cue, Director for Local and International Linkages and Chairperson of Hospitality and Tourism Management Department, Ma. Fenerlin Comafay, and Jeanlee W. Villaruz.
