Bannered with the theme “Alternative Investment Opportunities for Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SMEs): Exploring Capital Markets”, the MPSPC-School of Advanced Education, under its Master in Business Administration (MBA) and Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) Programs, initiated an extension activity for MSME Owners and Operators on November 29-30, 2023, at the Municipal Auditorium of Bauko Town Hall, Bauko, Mountain Province. The event is indicative of a functional partnership between MPSPC-SAE and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Bauko.

The activity aimed to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) improve their potential, in line with the goals of promoting economic growth, employment, and decent work. The seminar focused on teaching SMEs about using capital markets to expand their financial capabilities. The goal was to provide SMEs with the knowledge and tools to access investment opportunities outside of traditional methods, creating a resilient and inclusive environment.


Throughout the two-day event, resource speakers, including Dr. Elvin P. Rosario, the MBA Chairperson, shared his research-based extension as the foundation of this activity, providing integral insights, strategies, and success stories on Bond Market and Mutual Funds. Partner groups, such as Moving Market PH, featured resource speakers like Mr. Christian Paul R. Aňasco discussing the Stock Market and FOREX, and Ms. Christine Joyce R. Aňasco addressing Derivative Securities. The Landbank of the Philippines also participated with Ms. Mayble L. Labeo, who spoke about the Unit Investment Trust Fund (UITF) and Money Markets.


Participants included enterprise owners, organizations, and government departments. The event included workshops and interactive sessions to guide SME owners on navigating capital markets, managing risks, and seizing growth opportunities.
