Hospitality Management Students Secure Bronze at Culinary Showdownduring the 16th ANNUAL HOTEL, RESTAURANT, AND TOURISM WEEK, 14th NATIONAL FOOD SHOWDOWN, with the theme โ€œMALAKAS AT MAGANDA: THE SURGE OF PHILIPPINE CUISINE.โ€ The event was hosted by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB) in partnership with National Food Showdown (NFS), held on September 20th to 23rd, 2023, at Baguio Country Club.
 
Mr. Jephunneh Bel R. Anengyao and Ms. Vanessa Venus G. Zaparita showcased their culinary skills and teamwork, earning 72 points equivalent to a BRONZE placement in the Pasta and Sauce Showdown Category Student Division. Notably, they had previously won second place at the World Food Expo Canadian Beef Young Chefs Challenge, fueling their excitement and determination to compete once more in the culinary field. We acknowledge the invaluable guidance and mentorship provided by Dr. Karen B. Cue, Ms. Ma. Fenerlin Comafay, and Ms. Maria Angelina May-ao, who accompanied Anengyao and Zaparita throughout their journey.
 
Additionally, BSHM students also attended seminars on Baking the Bakers Way: Mirror Glazes and Modern Cake Mixes, Navigating Front Office Services with Professionalism and Efficiency and Wine Familiarization and Service. On the other hand, BSTM students attended a session on A Journey of Excellence: An Afternoon Learning Session from the Hospitality Expert.
