BONTOC – The Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) and the University of the Philippines Baguio (UPB) have taken a significant step towards collaboration and academic cooperation. Dr. Mark Preston S. Lopez, the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Corazon L. Abansi, Chancellor of UP Baguio, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today, solidifying their commitment to joint initiatives and mutual support.

The MOU signing ceremony took place at the Admin Conference Hall, MPSPC Bontoc Campus, and was witnessed by MPSPC College President Dr. Edgar G. Cue and officials from both institutions. The MOU signifies a shared vision of fostering academic excellence, research collaborations, faculty and student exchange programs, and the sharing of resources and expertise.

In his message, Dr. Cue stressed that the visit and the forging of the partnership between the two institutions are seen as vital in uncertain times, as higher education landscapes evolve rapidly and the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is crucial as it represents a shared motivation to maximize the potential of partnerships, ensuring sustainability, inclusivity, free flow of knowledge, continuity of cultural heritage, and benchmarking of best practices. He further mentioned that the partnership reflects the commitment of both institutions to provide quality higher education and contribute to community development and nation-building.
