The Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) Unit of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) is conducting the opening ceremony of a Cadet Officer Qualifying Course (COQC) today, October 27, at the College Auditorium, Bontoc, MP.

The Cadet Officer Qualifying Course [COQC] is an initial pre-cadet officer qualifying training conducted by the Department of Military Science and Tactics (DMST) to recruit and ensure that qualified ROTC cadets are admitted to the Philippine Army Advance ROTC Training Program. This also comes as part of MPSPC initiative to fortify studentsโ€™ abilities and skills in leadership, social and personal responsibility areas for development.

College President Edgar G. Cue served as the guest of honor and speaker, represented by Dr. Arel B. Sia-ed, Bontoc Campus Director, who emphasized the importance of teamwork, unity, and camaraderie that the applicants and trainees should acquire during the training.

โ€œEmbrace your training with the spirit of cadetship, learn with an open heart, and lead with compassion. The journey ahead is not an easy one, but it is a journey that will define the leaders you are meant to be,โ€ added Cue.

Said training consists of 66 Advanced ROTC cadets and 86 COQC applicants.
