To conserve the environment, mitigate the impact of climate change, and provide sustainable livelihoods for people in the countryside who have been severely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the College demonstrated its commitment to fostering sustainable development in a recently conducted inception meeting at the Lagangilang Campus of Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology on November 30, 2023.

The Vice President for Research Development and Extension Services, Dr. Epiphania B. Magwilang, along with the Project Leader of the MPSPC Bamboo Project and Chairperson of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Brent Gregg Gomuad, and an RDE staff Ms. Dikwanay Kate Faed joined the project teams from the different SUCs in CAR to discuss the needed preparations and matters for synergy of actions in the implementation of a regional collaboration project titled โ€œBamboo Industry Development for Environment Conservation and Countryside Post-COVD Economic Boomโ€.

 

Each SUC was given a Php5M fund for the implementation of said project in the National Expenditure Program FY 2024 through the Office of Senator Loren B. Legarda.
