With the commitment to excellent researches, the College, in the last quarter of 2017 did its utmost to uphold our name in the various local, national and international fora.

27th Annual International Conference for National Association for Multicultural Education in Utah, USA

Mark Preston Lopez, TED faculty and Fullbright scholar and Dr. Annie Grail Ekid, Vice President for Research Development and Extension presented the research paper entitled, “Challenges of Mother Tongue language Instruction in Multilingual Settings: Policy and Practices in Mountain Province”, during the 27th Annual International Conference for National Association for Multicultural Education

at the Hilton Lake Center, Salt Lake City, Utah, United States of America on November 1-5. The theme for the conference was, “Re-imagining multicultural education in changing times.”
The College President, an author of the paper, for some reasons, was not able to accompany Mr. Lopez and Ms. Ekid to USA.

Asian Conference on Interdisciplinary Research in Bali, Indonesia
Jonnelle Fagsao, a member of the Teacher Education faculty and of the Graduate School instructor impressed the judges with his research presentation, “The Meme is the Message: Traditional Referenciality in the Songs of Bontok Composer Felix Khensay”. He got the judges’ nod for the Best in Oral Presentation at the Asian Conference on Interdisciplinary Research 2017 held on September 15-17, 2017 at the Mansion Hotel and Spa, in Bali Indonesia.
Following the theme, “Sustainable and Regenerative Development for Personal, Organizational and Community Wellness through Interdisciplinary Research”, the MPSPC participants presented their researches in their own fields of expertise. Others in the MPSPC contingent included Venus Grace Fagyan on her study “Challenges in Setting Up Resource Generation Initiatives in a State College in Mountain Province, Philippines; Antonina Manochon with her research, “The Tayan of Upaland Bontoc, Mounain Province, Philippines”; and, Flordeliza Cruz with her study “Gender Fair Education: Integration and Development Perspective in the Different Subject Areas.”

2nd International Research Forum on Education, Social Sciences and the Social Praxis in Quezon City, Manila
Meanwhile, seven researchers from the College also presented research papers during the 2nd International Research Forum on Education, Social Sciences and the Social Praxis at the New Camelot Hotel, Diliman, Quezon City on December 02-04.
The researchers included Rachel Fagyan who won the Best Presenter Award for presenting her research paper entitled, “Internal Audit Management Practices of Small-sized

Cooperatives”; Pilar Palangyos who presented her research “Documentation of Wild Mushrooms in the Pine Forest of Bauko, Mountain Province”; Luzlyn Agwilang who presented the paper on “Knowledge on and Acceptability of Federalism among LGU Officials of Mountain Province”; Sylesia Pangesfan for her research “Outcomes-based Portfolio for Grade 7 Science”; Flordeliza Cruz who presented on the “Sexual Harassment: Understanding and Experiences of MPSPC College Students; Claire Kaplaan Lafadchan for presentation on“Indigenous Security Measures of Can-eo and Talubin, Northern Philippines”; and Willow Pangket who gave a presentation on “Portrait of a Bontok Woman in Selected Literary Texts”

7th Joint HAARRDEC-CIERDEC and 27th HAARDEC Regional Symposium on RDE highlights for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources, Social, Industry, Energy Sectors and Emerging Technology and 1st Regional Student Research Congress in Lamut, Ifugao
Faculty and student researchers brought home the bacon when they won four awards in the different competing awards during the concluded 7th Joint HAARRDEC-CIERDEC and 27th HAARDEC Regional Symposium on RDE Highlights for Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources, Social, Industry, Energy Sectors and Emerging Technology and 1st Regional Student Research Congress. This competition was held on October 5, 2017 held at the Ifugao State University and during the 3rd HAARRDEC-CHED-CAR Regional Symposium on RDE Highlights for Education and Regional Student Research Congress on Education Researches held last November 14 at the CHED – CAR, Regional Office.
