In its strategy to press for quality qualitative researches, the Research Development and Extension Sector conducted a 2-day seminar-workshop on “Applying Qualitative Research Across Disciplines” on January 18-19 at the College Audio-Visual Room.

The sector invited Dr. Keith Miller from Flinders University in Australia to share his expertise

on qualitative research. According to him, “most of the uncaptured information in quantitative researches are more seen and discussed in qualitative research.” Moreover, he also discussed that the breadth and depth of information a researcher can get from a qualitative data are marked with the experiences, beliefs and lives of the respondents under the study.

Seventy-six (76) faculty and staff researchers participated in this seminar-workshop. Activities were intermittently given to the participants in order to elicit some research ideas which may be used in the future. // R.Tawanna
