Educators from the Nursing Department of Mountain Province State Polytechnic College (MPSPC) are attending the training on Outcome – based Education (OBE) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Integration at the Coffee and Lemon Café, Samoki, Bontoc, MP, today, October 26.
 
The three-day activity seeks to create a curriculum and competency map of nursing courses that are outcome-based and SDG-aligned, apply OBE principles in the implementation of the teaching and learning process, and distinguish various quality assurance mechanisms for nursing education, among others.
 
College President Edgar G. Cue stated that the creation of an outcome-based and SDG – aligned syllabus will organize the system of the Nursing Department, and is pivotal for all students to understand, value, and be able to accomplish for the achievement of the target level of competence upon their graduation.
 
Cue also urged the participants to continually work for the provision of quality and inclusive education for the students.
 
“Let us all imbibe the core values of PROFESSIONALISM, RESILIENCE, INCLUSIVITY, MORAL INTEGRITY, and EXCELLENCE for our own personal growth and, more importantly, for the institution in which we find ourselves,” he added.
 
Said training will run until Saturday, October 28, 2023, and will cover topics including OBE Principles and Processes, Teaching-Learning Strategies in the Classroom and Related Learning Activities, OBE Assessment Tools for Classroom and RLE, OBE Instructional Principles and Resources, and Authentic Assessment with corresponding workshops.
